Jozsef Kiss (1833-1900) Hungarian Painter. He began his art studies in Budapest with Károly Steinacker. In 1851 he visited the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. He was the court painter of Emperor Miksa. Returning home in Sopron and elsewhere, he created church images.
He returned to Vienna in 1878, where he painted and exhibited portraits, life images, and historical themes. In 1879 he appeared in the Hungarian National Gallery with a portrait of Franz Joseph I. One of his works can be found in the Hungarian National Gallery.
